Almost seven years ago to the day, Curt and I took our first trip together to visit his brother, Jordan, in San Francisco then ventured up the coast for a couple of days to Bodega Bay. We had such a fun week together, and it’s true that you really can tell how you get along with someone if you can travel together. We didn’t think that seven years later we’d be doing it full-time, but taking a walk down memory lane was good for us.
We started our morning with a walk near Doran Beach. Last time we visited there wasn’t a person in sight, but this time the beach was bubbling with families, dogs, and even people riding horses.
We drove over to the funky little town of Freestone and visited the same bakery (Wild Flour Bread) and winery (Freestone Joseph Phelps) and even found a new artisan cheese shop (Freestone Artisan Cheese) and a fun hat store (Enduring Comforts).
The best part of the day was opening our bottle of wine, cheese, and bread and sitting in the sunshine in our lounger lawn chairs, talking about where we’ve been and where we’re going. What a fun couple of days in Bodega Bay! Are there places you’ve been that you’d like to re-visit?
