Big Bear was a happy RV, parked with a view of Lake Powell. The trails around the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area made for some great views while on walks, runs, or for our round of golf at the Lake Powell National Golf Course.
We spent an afternoon doing the touristy thing, including a tour of the Glen Canyon Dam and a quick hike to Horseshoe Bend.
Horseshoe Bend is a great place for all tourists to go to scurry around the ledge of a cliff to take photos of a horse-shoe shaped bend in the Colorado River. The hike to the bend is crowded and sandy, but the view is pretty. It’d be easier to soak in some of the beauty of the river if less people crowded the ledge, but nonetheless, it was worth the quick one and a half mile hike.
We did venture out to explore off the beaten path that same afternoon, taking photos from a place where not as many people explored. We ended up at the Dam Bar and Grill in Page for a great pasta dinner.
While heading back home, the sun was just about to set, creating a different light over the lake, a gorgeous photo opportunity.
More adventures tomorrow…
